More Birthday Fun with Good Friend

On Friday night my friend treated me to a yummy and delightful birthday dinner.  We chatted late unto the night. So much fun.  I also received a very special birthday gift.  Mrs. W knows me so well.  She worked very hard at getting me the perfect gift.

Thanks Jules for the great day, and the perfect gift.

VOTE People VOTE!

We believe that it is our Civil Obligation to vote.  This may seam unimportant in the off elections or primaries, but our ancestors died for our freedom to determine our own future. It might seam like your voice doesn't matter but it does.  Do your homework, read about the candidates, look to those that you trust to guide you and then vote.  We were able to early vote this week for the big day next Tuesday.  We try to early vote so that we can go together.  Lunch is the tradition afterwards.  Pooker had to work but we owe her a lunch.  Thank you kiddos for making us proud once again. We have tried to make a family tradition of voting together and then enjoying a meal together.  A little incentive goes a long way.  Thank you to all those past generations that have given us this luxury.

Lone Star is Real College!

I have heard it said that Lone Star is not a "real school" and it has been implied that community college doesn't really count.

I laugh at that.  Real college credits, not as costly, extra resources, no food and dorm cost . . . ok maybe it isn't real college.  Thank goodness my kids are smart enough to respect value.
So to all the school snobs out there, I say to you to have fun overpaying for a sub standard education.  Know that you are paying for school name recognition, tenure for all professors (deserving or not), and the sporting teams.  Instead you could be at community college earning real credits with strong academic support systems for a reasonable cost.
In the end I will be very proud of my kiddos no matter what level of education they have.  I am very proud of the fact that they are also being smart about how they get their education.

Happy Birthday (Mine)

I have had the honor of sharing the celebration of my birthday with the most special people in the world, my family.

Sunday was the day before my big day but we could all get together.  We had hoped to see a movie but ran out of time after Mass ran long.  Off to Chuy's we went.  I feel so loved by all my kiddos and their wonderful presents.  Jumba even got me a candy bar with his own money and Bagel made me a beautiful box to hold my stuff.

I just love the family shot.
 I am so very blessed.

When I looked out at the table I could not help but feel overwhelmed by the awesomeness that exists in my children.  They are smart, loving, funny, kind and adventurous people of God.  They are not as much a reflection of me as they are my models of behavior.
After dinner I had Sugar and Possible with me for LifeTeen.  These two made sure the love of Neen continued.  They took cards around to have my peers sign and then also one for my team of teens to sign.  Before LifeTeen started we shared some chocolate covered strawberries.
The next morning was our Catholic Coffee Club.  Possible had organized a gift from these teens and then had a cookie with ice cream and singing for me.  I can't believe how much they all went out of their way to love on me for my birthday.
The house was filled with balloons everywhere.  This lead to several days of fun for the babies especially.  J and I went out for dinner on my birthday and had a wonderful conversation.  Life isn't perfect, and at times I feel like I have little to show for all the work I do. I couldn't possibly feel that way with all the love that was shown me on my birthday.

Twins with Basketball

I just love watching the twin interact.  They talk to each other constantly.  I don't understand them most of the time, but they understand each other.  Can I tell you how cute they are.

Here is another picture of dad and his twins.  They try to help him with his work.  He was checking emails before heading off to a meeting.
These two fight all the time but then also love each other bunches and bunches.  They can't stand to hear their twin cry.  Their relationship is so much fun to watch develop.  I wish I had a twin to enjoy life with.  I am so thankful that God sent us these two.  What a true blessing they are!

Sugar And Glasses

Sugar has been spending hours in front of the computer screen for her math class.  She was complaining that her eyes were sore after awhile so we went to have her eyes checked out.  I think those dilated eyes are so silly looking.  Sugar is still beautiful.

Goobers helped her pick out her glasses.  They came in very quickly.
So pretty, glasses or not.

Celebration: Valentines/ EMT

The day was to be like all the rest of our Valentine Days.  Jason and the boys go out and bring back roses and chocolate covered strawberries.  My special Valentine always makes sure that the ladies of this house are loved.  We wanted to celebrate Pooker's accomplishment and this day was the only one Pooker had open.  So we had celebrations all around.
Twin Beautiful crawled onto the table and fell asleep.

Beautiful on left - Adorable on right

Lunch was yummy.  We all tried to let Pooker know that we are very proud of all that she has accomplished.  It was also a wonderful afternoon with our whole family.  The next picture is of those that Jason and I truly live for.  We know, love and serve God in this world and are blessed to find Him n the eyes of each of them.
