I giggle when I see this picture because it reminds me of the visit to the Apple Store. The conversation was hysterical because J had left his phone in his pocket during the washing machine. AG+ Apple Genius
J "I need to check my phone to see if it will still work."
AG "What happened to it sir?"
J "It got wet?"
AG "Did it fall into water, completely submerged or just splash with a quick pick up?"
J "Fell in?"
AG "Toilet, sink, pool, washing machine?"
J "Washing Machine?
AG "Full cycle, sir?"
J "Uhhhh yes?"
AG "OK Nothing we can do but order a new phone!"
J "But isn't it water proof!"
AG "Not the full cycle, sir!"
J help is head high knowing he was not the only one to have done the same thing. I giggled at the conversation, though.

Those Dogs Can Climb Anything
Huskies are insane. They are hard to keep confined. We put this gate up to keep the dogs in the tile area and away from the front door. It slows them down but that it about it. I am amazed at their skills. We hope to move soon and find a property that has some open space for them to run and we will need to create some climbing activities for them. They has awesome skills.

Sibling Story
Bear came down stairs without a shirt on to show us his sunburn. He has been lifeguarding constantly lately so he is bright pink but there is a white strap mark from the life preserver. The twins were sitting there and Adorable got very excited and said,"You are pink Bear, you like pink just like me!" Bear didn't miss a beat and said, "I turned pink just for you." It was very cute until Beautiful looked up at his with her big sad eyes and asked him to turn purple for her.

God said, "Throw it out!"
I still can't believe this. It was one of those really odd things that surprises you when it happens. I was getting out of the car the other morning. I had my decaf-coffee with me. It was a cup from McDonald's and it was about 3/4 finished. I paused after touching the ground and asked myself, "Should I take this into the park with me and finish it off or should I just pitch the cup right now?"
CLUNK What was that, I looked around and then at my cup. A few fine needles had fallen from the sky and right into the very small drinking opening to the lid. "Well I guess that answers that!"

Punishment at Spirit party
Practice was underway and dad and I were at home preparing for the party. We were cutting watermelon when we got the call. "Mom, you need to get up here right away. There has been a fight." I grinned at dad, Bear was in fight I said. I can't believe it and yet he is a 15 year old young man. I guess it was bound to happen. I just hope he wasn't hurt. "Mom, it wasn't Bear it was Pickle." What?!?
We arrived at the pool upset and a little curious. Pickle does have a tempter. We decided before getting there that we would take Pickle home and he would miss the party. Imagine our surprise wen we arrived to find a dad keeping Bagel away from Pickle. They were play fighting and then Bagel got hurt for real and lost her temper. The dad said, "I know they are siblings and I would have let them fight it out except that I thought she was going to KILL him." The punishment after we learned all the facts was to attend the spirit party holding hands the entire time. Boy they hated that one. At least we have not had any more public fights. Bagel is not to punch her brother any more just like he isn't to punch her.
Here a group of my kiddos sat to have a pow-wow. They are a funny group and we all loved the time together even when fighting.

Who made you?
Most Catholic homeschooling moms are familiar with the Baltimore Catechism. It is recommended in almost every teaching program as the backdrop for elementary faith study. I remember memorizing the first 20 in my days in second grade to prepare for 1st Holy Communion. There is a comfort in those familiar words.
I love the faith books that we are using this year. I often switch it up an
do all kinds
of things. We often read from the Bible and do reflections. This year I went with a well used and much loved program called Faith and Life series. They are based in the the Catechism. I love that they put the questions in context with scripture and beautiful art work. Great books. Simple but wonderful at starting conversations about the faith. Love the
time with the books.
Pickle finished his schoolwork and was very proud of what he did. He turned to Jumba and tried to share his knowledge with his baby brother. It made me laugh at his response. He didn't pause, he didn't say huh? He just answered with conviction.
Q. Why did God make you?
A. God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to
serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him for ever in heaven.

Pickle: Hey Jumba, who made you?
Jumba: Barney!
