Baby Shower / Show The Twins Party

A shower was planned for the day I actually delivered.  It was rescheduled for last weekend.  My friend Julie W and my girls put on one heck of a fun baby shower.  The food and the games were wonderful.  Seeing people outside the home was even better.  I had a blast and so did the twins.
Thanks to my many generous friends, the twins will be well dressed for months.
The games were so much fun.
I hear that Pooker and the girls were in charge of this part.
Above you are looking at a table full of "dirty baby diapers".  They are "soiled" with various
The guests had to taste and identify 7 different baby foods.
Yum!
It was so much funny seeing so many of our friends.
The next game was even more "yummy"!
The kids put various candy bars smashed into diapers.  We had to walk around the table and label which candy bar filled that poopy diaper.
It was harder than you would think.

Friends.
Food.

More friends.

And because the twins came so early, we got to show off the twins.

The party was so much fun.  I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful friends.  They prayed for  the twins and for me.  I know that I owe all these wonderful people my heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers for the health of the twins and for my health.

Cudas Win Divisionals

This was the hottest day of the year so far.  Divisionals was split into two meets.  The 10 and unders were first and then everyone else.  All my kiddos went at one time and had to get there by 6:45am.  The twins and I stayed at home.  We had a very long day with non stop nursing but their day was a little more rough.  They were inside but the heat was still very high.  We were swimming against everyone we swam against before.  All teams were here in one pool at one time.  Possible was brought home because she was wiped out and getting sick.  The rest of them stayed to find out that the Cudas won this year.  Here are the top three teams, see how close the score was:  Northampton Cudas 297, Woodlands Hurricanes 290, Memorial Northwest 281.  It was a very tight race but in the end the Cudas pulled ahead.  Way to go guys.

My Cudas were equally happy.  Too bad Possible had gotten sick, I know this would have meant the world to her as well.  Dad took the winning T Family Cudas to dinner to celebrate.  A little sad that we were not all together but a true celebration non the less.  Way to go Cudas!  Congrats!!!

Cuda Spirit Week and Spirit Party

The week before Divisionals is always a fun week for the the neighborhood Cudas.  They have several days for you to show your spirit.  There is crazy hat day, patriotic day, Hawaii day, and the week ends with black and gold day and a huge spirit party.

The spirit party is always fun.  The Jr. coaches paint faces and fingernails.  My kiddos even colored their hair.

My Cudas!  These guys all give the team their all and the family is blessed to be a part of it.  Go Cudas!

Thank you Disney!

A few weeks before Christmas, as my family was still in shock over our pregnancy discovering and then again that it was twins, we were enjoying watching the Christmas episodes and mini movies to all of our favorite shows.  One show we have liked is the Disney Channel's "Good Luck Charlie"

Now this is a modern family that follows many of the silly trends.  The dad is portrayed as dill witted, the mom is often over bearing and self serving and the teens have modern teen issues such as dating and kissing.  The family is without a known faith life and these things might keep you away from the show.  BUT My family LOVES this show for several reasons.  One being that they have four children and that is a bunch of kids for a Disney show.  We have loved seeing the "big family" dynamics on the TV once a week.   For the most part they are a fun living family and we have enjoyed watching the stories develop over the past few years.
We watched the Christmas Movie with such joy.  We DVRed it and watched it when we are all together.  As the story developed we all guessed that the mom must be pregnant.  We KNEW we were wrong because there is NO WAY a TV show would portray baby 5 in a positive manner.  The mom was pregnant and at first the oldest daughter was mad at her mom and dad but then she saw what was really important and was very excited.  We were all so surprised that Disney went out on such a limb with this traditional family.

What had been equally exciting is that the mom was pregnant this season.  All the crazy mood swings and stuff that goes with mom expecting but still having a big family were all on the TV screen. The crazy view of grown children and being pregnant was something that I could relate to, the whole family could.  This was not a show about the 17 year old daughter being pregnant but about the 17 year old daughter, 19 year old son and the rest of the group helping as mom prepared for the next baby.  We could relate to this so much.  We laughed and cried as we watched the episodes this season.  I like that at times my kiddo would say, that might be easier if they went to church.

Disney also had a build up to this past episode.   They let the fans vote on the name of the new baby.  It has been reported that they were even shocked at the number of votes that they received.  The siblings on the show were excited about the baby but very real.  They worried about silly things but knew the baby would be welcomed and loved.  This last episode was all about mom NOT having the baby on Charlie's birthday.  Charlie was to be 3 and no one wanted her to have to "share" her big day.  I grew sad as the episode went on thinking that was the wrong way to think about it.  I was thinking that if they shared a birthday it could be written into the show to be very exciting.

In the end the baby was born on Charlie's birthday.  No one had purchased Charlie's gift and the mom apologized to her when she came to visit the new baby. Charlie, the beautiful 3 year old girl,  pointed to her new baby brother and said that was all she needed.  My whole family sat around the TV cheering, crying and so happy that a Disney show actually got it.  For that short time we felt like we were not so far from the main stream.  We are also hoping that some will be inspired by this happy portrayal of a bigger family to have more children.
So I must just say Thank You Disney.

Remembering a wise conversation with Jumba

"Why in the world would God send us TWO more babies?", I asked after a night of little sleep.

It was the four year old that put me in my place.  Jumba said, "God told me in a dream that we are just supposed to love them!".

"That's it?",  I inquired of my wise little man.

"Yep!  We just need to love them the rest will work out.  You do love them don't you?"  He asked of me.  This is what Pooker has been trying to remind me of when I worry about the little things.

I couldn't answer him because the tears had filled my eyes and were streaming down my face.  I needed them to help me remember. I am so happy to be tired because it means that I have healthy babies at home that need mom to take care of them.  We are so blessed.

Duh mom, at least me kids have it figured out.  It really is that simple.  If you have one child or  twenty your job is very simple.  We are just required to love them.  God does the rest.

BABYMOON

Just like the idea of a honeymoon after the marriage, I have heard the time at home with a new baby as the BABYMOON time.  It is a lot of work, a lot of adjusting, little sleep and time of getting to know each other.  Our Babymoon is going very well thank you!

We are all loving this special time.  The twins are fitting in so well.  The only fighting I ever hear is the  when they fight over who's turn it is to hold the baby.  These little ones are very loved.
