A month without the Van

A while back I shared that we were having a run of bad luck.  If it could go wrong it has.  We have needed so much work on our big family van.  God has protected us and we have not had any injuries.  We have been blessed with wonderful mechanics working on our van.

V-8 Engine pistons on a crack-shaft in picture

My understanding is the the crank shaft of an engine should look like the above picture but the one from our van broke.  This is rare I am told but completely broken is what happened here.  No one got hurt, even though it broke while Pooker and Goobers were driving on the Beltway in rush hour traffic.
It took a month and a day to rebuild the engine with some new parts.  It was a very long month and we would go by and visit the big car.  It looked silly with the engine gone and in pieces.
The van is finished and we are thrilled.  We are told it will go strong for another 100,000 miles.
We owe our sincere thanks to our friends that all those that have worked on the van and all those that helped us with rides, cars and offers of help.

A Winter Wedding

One of Pooker's home schooled high school friends got married a few days after Christmas.  Miss Megan was a beautiful bride.  J and I with Pooker, Goobers and Bear.  It was fun seeing some old friends.

My kiddos with the beautiful bride.
Megan's mom and I have been running our Catholic Coffee Club for seven years now, we started it for Pooker and Megan.
Congratulations to Megan and her new hubby Doug.  May God continue to Bless you and help you to always find HIM first in your marriage.

Chill-axin After Christmas with Twins

Daniel spends a few hours with us holding babies.  He loved it when Adorable fell asleep in his arms.
Sugar just relaxing while playing with Beautiful.
Adorable - Beautiful
Good morning to my precious babies enjoying a relaxed morning.  The twins are so cute lately patting each other on the head.

Christmas with Snow in Texas????

OK, it wasn't real snow but still so much fun.  All my elves heard Jumba say that "It will happen on Christmas Eve, I know it will.  There is Christmas Magic ya know?!?"
That magic was the generosity of his siblings and his dad getting up at 5 am so to create and spread the fake white stuff.  Man they love that little guy (and mom!)

The twins were a little worn out.  All that paper tearing and excitement.  Can I join them?
Here is too another great holiday.  The joy of heaven came with the birth of a baby and the taste of heaven comes with that celebration with my family!

Christmas Eve in review

For our family Santa delivers gifts that will be opened Christmas day but before that happens we open our gifts to each other and from grandparents are free game on Christmas Eve after Mass.  J and I were once again moved to tears to see how much this group of kiddos love each other.  They are so generous, spending their money on each other.
