KC and Benedictine Trip

We visit Benedictine all the time, I wonder if we will end up with any kiddos actually attending school there. We do know that it is a beautiful place.

Playing in Aitchison

Until we started driving around Benedictine, Possible was pretty set on some day transferring into A&M University.  Something happened to her during this visit.  Her affections changed just a little.  Now she is open to maybe Benedictine.  It is such beautiful place.

This is a view from close to the monk's monastery.  It over looks the Missouri River.  The trees must be spectacular in the fall.  The green was gorgeous even in the heat of the summer.

These kids would spend some time in the bookstore stocking up of t-shirts in case this is where Possible does go someday.  Pickle was not effected by any of the schools at all.  Time will tell.

Supposedly Atchison is a very Haunted Town.  Possible had been here before for the LTLC conference.  She didn't want to "touch the tree" during that visit but now regrets being afraid.  She wanted us to find the tree. . . What tree you ask, well the one in Molly's Hallow in Jackson Park. According to the Legends of America Website this is one scary place to be.  In an article named "Haunted Atchison - Most Ghostly Town in Kansas" we learn about this tree . . .

To Possible it didn't matter if Molly was a slave girl or a prom date.  Either story created a tree that she visited before in the middle of the night.  This time she was prepared and wanted to face her fear. As silly as it was, we drove around the park, went on foot to the Hollow and they touched the tree.  They did and nothing happened, we heard nothing and probably because it was the middle of the day we all teased her just a little.

That was it, nothing else.  Now back to the real world and to Kansas City.

Wreaths to Celebrate Back To School

I love working hard to create decorations that reflect what was going on in our lives.  While traveling I created two back to school wreaths.  One would hang on my front door and needed to represent all the schools and then I made one for Goober's apartment door.

I wanted something to decorate the door that celebrated each school that the kids would attend.  I love  that I added each of the mascots to the wreath.  All my kiddos are represented.
Good news is that Goobers approved of her own Sam Houston State University.

So much my has been happening. I needed comfort. I decided to make one of my favorite meals from my youth.  My mom was not the most flavorf...
