Getting Mary

Mary B was going to spend the weekend with us, then head to Chicago. We were happy that we would get to spend a little time with her at the beginning of her Spring Break from college. SLU would be off for the week. We are so happy that we get to have her visit for the weekend.

First Day Back to College

Time for  a few more to head off to college classes.

First Day of College

Time for the first day of college classes at SCC for Pickle and Princess, actually their first day of "traditional school" ever!  These days are hard on my mom heart.  I know that the kids are both 18 (Princess had just had her birthday the day before) and not 5 or 6 years old, but this is their first day in a "real" classroom.  I know they will do well.  I am glad the Princess was ready to start college a year early.  This way they can go on the adventure together. 

I instructed the kids to make sure they took a picture for me when dropping them off.  Thank you Bear!

Good luck Pickle!  Good luck Princess!  We all know that you two will do well!

College Bound

These two are ready.  Pickle is 18 and ready to learn more formally.  Princess is bored at home, she might as well go to college too.  I am very proud of these two.  

It is very different from Lone Star Community College.  There experience will be very different from the older siblings.  They will do great!

College PROM

So much happening today!  Sugar and Sticks were headed out to enjoy College Prom.  This is an event that will be the Stick's family.  They looked so cute!  Sugar is rocking the dress again.  Way to get your money out of the bridesmaids dress.

Good to know these two are having fun!

Possible Celebrates Finishing Classes for Semester

Possible wears her emotions on her sleeve and today she was actually giddy. She had finished her glasses. She signed herself up for several summer courses so it will be a short lived break. We all enjoyed the break with her. We were glad to enjoy the moments with her.  Thank you Possible for always including all of us in your life.

Sugar and Possible Go To SEEK 2019

There is a group that is trying to help the college age Catholics maintain their faith.    

Focus is: 

The Fellowship of Catholic University Students is a Catholic collegiate outreach whose mission is to share the hope and joy of the gospel with college and university students, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of Christ-centered evangelization, discipleship and friendships in which they lead others to do the same.

One of the things that FOCUS does is to host these conference/retreats. 

SEEK“What do you seek?” (John 1:38) SEEK is an invitation to college students everywhere to explore life’s bigger questions: who we are, where we’re going and what we seek along the journey. As FOCUS’ national conference, SEEK encourages all students to come explore what they truly seek: to learn about the faith, to share in friendship, to be encouraged in their unique vocation — and to experience the love, hope and very real presence of Jesus Christ through His Church.Hosted for five days every other year, SEEK gathers thousands of college students together from all across the country for a time of prayer, fellowship, engaging talks, inspiring entertainment — and, most importantly, a chance to encounter Christ in a life-changing way.

Sugar and Possible decided to join the group from Lindenwood University to attend this SEEK Conference in Indianapolis, IN.

The girls had a blast. They ran into many friends from A&M and from STAOP.

Art Studies at Museum for Art Class

Possible takes school very seriously. I am so proud of her. She works with more determination that anyone I have ever seen. She asked me to visit the art museum with her and we have fun looking around. 

In the end she had to pick one piece to write about. All semester she has been drawn to landscapes. 'Loch Lomond' by Gustave Dore was her favorite.

Mary B Visits

One of our favorite family friends decided to go to SLU for college. I think we were more excited for her than anyone else. She just brings a little bit of Texas love to our family. Now if we could only get her entire family here.
