Bear Learns to Ski

Bear learns to ski, thanks to Chris and his family. The G family are spending their entire Christmas break in Denver working at a is resort. They love skiing so to them this is a vacation. Duncan got wind the they were close and took tow seminarians to visit and to give skiing a try. He was overwhelmed at how generous Chris's family was with him and the boys. Bear succeeded at this endeavor and Mr. G sent pictures and video.

Thank you Chris and G family! Congratulations to Bear on learning a new skill.

Our Day with Bear

J had some trade show stuff, Bear had seminary stuff so I picked both of them up after I had enjoyed a peaceful morning of relaxing.

We had to try another local spot for a yummy afternoon lunch.

The off to do some more shopping.

After another fun day our time was coming to a close. We would be dropping Bear off again to not see him for a few months. This was hard but not as hard as it was before. We know he is surrounded by great people. His other family is pretty cool. You can see it on his face, he is where he is supposed to be.

We need to thank Bear for making us feel so welcome. We are most thankful that Bear had time away from the seminary to hang out with his mom and dad. Thanks for being our “favorite child” for the weekend. Happy birthday! WE LOVE YOU!

Denver Adventures - Bear Needs Boots

I have heard several comments from by Texas kids that we keep visiting Denver but not Texas. J and I decided to send them a treat. We got them some Denver chain coffee.

While J would spend all day Saturday at a trade show I was off to the seminary to pick up Bear and do some exploring or shopping. .  .
St. Michael The Archangel, Pray for us!
(It is the feast of St. Michael today!  . . . and we are back at my favorite statue of the Saint.

We would pass the same small church on the way to and from the convention center where J had to work. I wanted to hit confession and thankfully this Saturday evening it worked out. Mary Mother of God was a beautiful but small church.

Visiting our Lord in various places is always a good thing.

Hanging Out in Denver

Bear had a Mass he had to go to with his SY group. We joined them but got a crazy call as we headed into Mass. We would travel out later that day. It was wonderful seeing the beautiful sites and being with Bear. I love seeing him in his clerics.

Headed home!

Brother Thomas Gonzaga

God's timing is wonderful. Parents weekend for the seminary had us in Denver where we were privileged to help represent the STAOP community in celebrating the Mass of First Profession of Brother Thomas Gonzaga into the Servants of Christ Jesus. It was good so see some St Anthony’s faces. That was good for the heart, as we miss them dearly. Also an honor to witness this commitment being made by a young man that we knew as Patrick from LifeTeen.

From the Servants of Christ Jesus Facebook Page:

3 Year Vows taken in front of the Eucharist. It was a beautiful thing to witness.  Congratulations to Brother Thomas Gonzaga.
