Our Version of A Stain Glass Window

Easter Vigil Mass

We all 'watched' this together. Bear assisted and we all prayed together. I don't like Easter Covid Style.

Dye The Eggs

So many things happen even though we are miles apart. Usually we would all dye eggs together. We are missing some so they called in. Holidays with a distance are not easy!

Easter Shopping

Shopping this Easter is so different that previous years. I can't believe that things are the way that they are. WE wanted to try to create some Easter morning drinks, I especially wanted to try recreate a special bloody mary for J.

Then on to the regular grocery store. The latest empty shelves phenomenon is tortillas. There are none to be found. Corn tortillas are available but the regular ones are not easy to locate. We bought some flour and we will try to create our own.
Just to check, still no toilet paper or napkins around at all.
I don't think I will ever get used to this.

Holy Thursday Done Differently

We miss Mass so much. The Paschal Triduum refers to the three days before Easter to include Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.  We will not be going to our parish this year to participate in the events. I was feeling out of sorts so I sat at my computer and enjoyed seeing Bear participate in the Holy Thursday Mass at his parish.

 I love seeing Bear!

Palm Sunday - Covid Style

How should one prepare for what is normally a very long Mass but this year will be only online. We watched with a coffee in hand. Holy Week is now at hand.

I grabbed some branches from our palm plant to decorate the door.

Grabbed some pictures from church videos at our parish of Immaculate Conception of Dardenne.
The priest blessed the palms. Goobers found out that they would be passing out them out on Sunday so she packed her car falloff siblings and drove up to ICD. They were handed several palms. They took a handful to each of their grandma's so that everyone had some.

I used ours to update our wreath with some blessed palms. And then we saw some pictures ofFr. Rick, Bear and Stephen passing out palms in OKC.

Sometimes I really wish we were closer to Bear. It is good seeing him serve the Lord.
May your Holy Week be blessed and united you to the Cross.

Stations of the Cross

We are now at the second weekend of Lent. Sugar wanted to make sure that we would all say the stations together so she got out the books and set us up in the dinning room.

Leader: We adore Thee, O Christ, and bless Thee.
All: Because by Thy holy cross Thou hast redeemed the world.

So much my has been happening. I needed comfort. I decided to make one of my favorite meals from my youth.  My mom was not the most flavorf...
