Advent and Preparing for Everyone

Advent is a beautiful time of year.

I love hearing from our out of town kiddos. Phone calls are always so important.
So you have heard that Goobers is on her way to St. Louis to stay. Bagel took it upon herself to decorate the room for first Pooker and JavaJava's visit and then for Goobers. She took a picture of herself and made many copies of it.

The room is very decorated and ready for our visitors and our permanent guest.  We are so very excited!!!!!

St. Nick Comes for a Visit

St. Nick visited us on his feast day. Boots were found all lined up and filled with candies.

The tree was covered in our favorite candy canes.

Now the trading begins. Thank you St. nick for reminding us about the feeling of wonder and joy that we anticipate for Christmas.

Shopping Trip With Dad

We didn't even get to sleep in the next day at all. Well the kids did, I went topic up J from the airport. We spent the day trying to find things and organize a plan for the next week.  Christmas was approaching quickly as well so that meant some of us needed to go shopping.  None of this was easy but it did work out.
I love how much J loves his girls (his boys too).  He loves being a dad and was upset that he had not been with us the day before.  When the big kids wanted to go shopping for an outfit to wear for Christmas he was ok with taking the twins with us.  Hard to help Santa too much when you have little helpers.
They had fun and when dad got to tired to shop we all came back to the rental.  It was a colder night that we had had so far and not have natural gas was a little harder than I thought it would be.

First thing the next morning, J got a small space heater.  So smart.  Christmas was coming, our move was coming but we were in limbo without internet or hot water.  Not having your own home is way more taxing on the mind than I thought it would be.  I felt very free from all the issues that the old house had and the work it needed, that was behind us.  Not having a place yet put us into a tail spin.  Thank God it didn't last long.

St. Nick Came For a Visit

I  hear he started with the big Tiemeyer at their apartment and then moved to the family home.

We love it when St. Nick comes around to visit.  I pray that you were good so that St. Nick could remind you that he is coming soon to celebrate Jesus birthday.

St. Nick - Pray for us!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like We Are Moving

We have been slowly taking a few things here and there to the storage unit.  It looks like we will be without a home for a week, so everything must be packed away.  This has been very slow going as life is still happening.  At times I think it would've been better if it had not been during the Advent season but then I remember that we are pretty busy most of the year.  I am happy to get out of this home but I still wish we were moving farther north than just 13 miles.  God is blessing us at every turn as things keep falling into place.  We will keep plugging away and try to make this a fun adventure for everyone.

Oh yeah that is what we are working toward.  Look at that super cool fridge in our new kitchen.  I can't wait.

Yet we have so much work to do!

So much my has been happening. I needed comfort. I decided to make one of my favorite meals from my youth.  My mom was not the most flavorf...
