Happy 21st Possible

Happy Birthday Possible!  I hope the day was good. Not easy to plan or celebrate on lockdown. We told her that we would put beers in each room of the house and she could crawl from room to room pretending to have a "BUB CRAWL" but her siblings came up with better ideas.

Decorations were up by the siblings and dad started cooking Possible's big huge breakfast.

Possible's sisters wanted to make sure today was a good day for Possible, even though we were in lock down. They planned a big picnic but the parks were closed so they sat in the parking lot of one of the parks and enjoyed their lunch.

Time was made to visit the store, just to make sure the ID would work. It did!

Boyfriend (un-named on blog so far . . . ) got permission from us and his parents to visit as long as he kept social distancing in place (meaning 6 feet away!).

The family then sung happy birthday to Possible with a cake.

Then the big party down stairs took place. The older siblings turned part of the basement into a bar area and set up a huge screen with a ZOOM call with all Possible's friends. What a cool day for Possible! Even on lockdown she knows she is very loved.

This girl had a great day!
Cheers to Possible, happy birthday!

Time For Confession

and acting goofy. Sugar's friend agreed to meet us at his parish for some social distance family confession time. It was beautiful. He was sitting in a Mary garden and we would walk up one by one. sitting away from him so he was safe. The entire family was able to go to the sacrament of confession. Being away from our Lord for so many weeks now was getting tough. We are praying but it isn't the same. I have no idea what the kids are posing for here, but I love the pictures. Family fun!

They are one cute bunch of people. I love them more than life itself. Now with a clean soul I can be a better mom. Thank you God.

Continued Table Information (Now Benches)

That table is looking good. The kids did a great job on the table and then on the benches. Bagel and Princess apparently like to sand. They made the edges smooth and beautiful. By the way did you see the toilet paper. Things were starting to get real. We were getting low and you can't buy that stuff in the stores around here. We were very very very thankful when we received a package from Houston that contained toilet paper. Thank you Larry and T family.

With in a day or so they added some benches. I love these. I would have paid a fortune for this table. It is solid, high quality, and beautiful!
After staining and then adding the top coat, let us with a beautiful table and bench set.

What To Do During A Lockdown

We had dinner together every night and on the third night our table collapsed. We had been using an outdoor picnic table in our kitchen. We are just renting and I didn't want to spend the money on a table for a temporary space. The kids asked if we could go get a table. J and I were kind of shocked because everything was closed. Furniture is not essential according to the lock down measures. We talked about getting another plastic type of temporary table. Possible had enough. She has always wanted a nice table in the kitchen, renting or not. She looked upside plans on the internet, borrowed some tools and went shopping for lumber. She had everything pre-cut. My children then assembled a new farm house style table.

This is just crazy to me. I thought we might be lazy during the lock down, but my kids have other plans. I am so stinking proud of them. Today there were the boys with Princess under Possibles leadership. Amazing!

Changes at the Stores

Sugar and Bagel are still working. They are babysitting together because instead of one cute baby to keep their eye on they are now. They stopped by the store on their way home and could not believe all the changes that were being made.

There is no toilet paper to be found anywhere. There is no soap to be found.
The store has taped off marks that you must stand behind while keeping a distance from other people. Changes are coming every day, and our governor has hinted that we will not be in a volunteer lock down for long. It will soon be mandated that we have to stay in our homes. We must not gather in groups of more than 10. We can only leave the house for work and to shop for groceries. The world is changing.

Getting Mary

Mary B was going to spend the weekend with us, then head to Chicago. We were happy that we would get to spend a little time with her at the beginning of her Spring Break from college. SLU would be off for the week. We are so happy that we get to have her visit for the weekend.

Some Went to TX

Goobers, Possible, and Bagel reorganized their lives so that they could go visit Pooker and JavaJava. Pooker is getting bigger everyday with that baby! The first stop was WhatA Burger ad then a bunch of other familiar type adventures.

They had Mexican food, slumber parties, learned all they could about the brewery.

The Six Brothers Brewery was established by JavaJava and his brothers. They have been creating their own beers for a few years and opened the brewery last year. Pooker and JavaJava decided to move to Abilene to be near JavaJava's family and to help brew the beer.

To this crowd there is nothing better than a little sister time.

Driving Permits

Princess and Bagel both earned their permits on different days. Pickle renewed and changed states on his permit.

Now comes the hard part. Pickle is ready to take the drivers test but wants a few weeks to practice. The others are brand new drivers, this will be fun. I am very thankful that the older kids are willing to help with this. Moms teaching driving make everyone nervous!
