Pumpkin Carving

One of the messiest activities in our household would be the yearly pumpkin carving time (the other being dying Easter eggs).  I was so excited to realize that all the kids were looking forward to this time together, from oldest to youngest. Since we homeschool we just count this as an art class with a different canvas.  They all did a great job following the procedures while also getting creative and being unique.  I watched one person take our her phone once the pumpkins were set up outside and starting talking pictures of their creations.

A fraction of the mess left behind.

These seeds are sorted and cleaned.  We then salt and roast them.  So yummy!

I look at all these pictures and I feel so very blessed.  These kids are so cool.  They have been formed to take care of each other.  I see in these pictures that it isn't a chore, they treat each other as friends.  J and I are so blessed to be surrounded by so much beauty.  Don't get me wrong, everyday isn't a picnic and we can often be heard cursing up a storm at ourselves and each other. BUT when I take the time to push my anger and frustration aside I see so much beauty.  I suspect that is how God looks at us.  (At least I hope!)
