My B-day

Yesterday was the big day. At one point the kiddos asked me How come grown ups didn't love their birthdays as much as little kids do. I don’t really know. I do enjoy the day just like the other days. I am glad that I was born and glad that I made it to another year. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go out to eat or not. We finally decided on Olive Garden after we came home and changed from Mass.

This meant that getting lunch after 11:00 a.m. Mass took up most of the day. We sure had fun, so it was worth the time. My kiddos had the staff surprise me with a song and a cake.

The absolute highlight was watching Cowboy devour his first bread sticks. He fits right in, we all love the bread sticks.

Hey Girl! I think I have your birthdate down in my calendar wrong, but I figure better something sometime than nothing ever. It looks like everybody had a good time. I'm certainly glad you were born and made it another year. Whoo Hoo!

Year of Faith

The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church you are also our Mother of Perpetual Help. With hearts full of love for you we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart so that we may be your devoted children. Obtain for us true sorrow for our sins and fidelity to the promises of our Baptism. We consecrate our minds and hearts to you that we always do the Will of our heavenly Father. We consecrate our lives to you that we may love God better and live not for ourselves but for Christ, your Son and that we may see Him and serve Him in others. By this humble act of consecration dear Mother of Perpetual Help we pledge to model our lives on you, the perfect Christian. So that, consecrated to you in life and in death we may belong to your Divine Son for all eternity. Amen
