Fireworks

The 4th of July has been a day that i have not known how to celebrate here in Houston.  It is so "frick-ing" hot here that I never want to spend much time outside.  The kids wanted to have a party but J and I were so busy.  We went car shopping that morning and then to a wedding and reception  With our permission the kids invite friends over to swim at the neighborhood pool and then over to our home to shoot off fireworks. J and I got back from the the reception in time to clean up at the pool and then oversee the fireworks at the house.  It was hot outside but the kids had a blast.

This July 4th was so much fun full of different adventures and lots of friends.  We celebrated our country by celebrating our faith, our friends and our blessings. Thank you God for the United States of America and thank you for allowing us to live here surrounded by so many wonderful friends.

A Young Couples Wedding

J and I were invited to a friend's wedding and were thrilled to witness a beautiful ceremony.  I am sharing this story because it really was so beautiful and I don't want to forget.  The sun was shinning when we walking into Mass but it was starting to cloud up.  Shortly after Mass started it began pouring.  Lightning, thunder and pounding rain.  J and smiled as we have always been told that it is considered a blessing of fertility to have it rain on your wedding day.  At the elevation of Our Lord in just before communion the rain stopped.  The sun poured into the church lighting up the SON.  It was almost magical to see.  We were later told that one of the groomsmen rain out of Mass just as it started to rain.  He opened a jar and collected the rain water.  After Mass he ran out, grabbed the jar full of the rain water, and then asked the priest to bless the water.  He then gave the couple this beautiful gift of Holy Water to be used during the baptisms of their children.   I am taking jars with me to all future weddings.  I still tear up remembering what a beautiful gift this if for the couple.  

May God Bless Adam and Mallory and help them to grow closer to Him in all that they do.

4th of July Parade!

Oak Ridge, the subdivision the kids swam for this summer always has a special float for the otters in their neighborhood 4th of July parade.  The kids all went even though dad and I were off trying to purchase a new car for dad.  They all seamed to have a complete blast!

Dad's New Ride

Remember the ice storm that damaged Dad's Volvo?    This was an event that started the beginning of the end of that vehicle.  It was perfect before that but after that car needed constant upkeep and care, all costing a fortune.  It was under 100,000 miles yet it acted like a Volvo with over 400,000 miles.  The time was here so we went searching.

 Dad ended up with a newer used Nissan Titan.  

This car had some issues and lots of miles but I think it is a good fit for J, at least for now. 

 Nothing cuter than a man and his first truck.

So far so good, J likes being the owner of a truck.

Living in Texas this is still considered a business man's car.  Looking great J.

Paintball Wars
