My New Alter Servers

 

One of our family Lenten resolutions was to try to attend daily Mass more often.   As we entered our second week Bear was pulled aside and asked if he would want to start serving daily Mass.  Bear and Pickle were so excited.  They went through the training and the very next morning, they served officially for the very first time.  (Both boys have served with Fr. Tom in private Masses in the past.  The boys don't count those times because Father told them what to do the entire time. )

 They did a great job.

 I suspect this will help getting us to Mass on time.

 

The pictures are from the cry room glass.  I did offer to take them for breakfast to thank them for being so willing to serve at Mass.  We ended up at What A Berger.  Yummy, again no shots of them but it was a fun morning. 

 

I have many friends that fall into several camps when it comes to serving.  Boys only should serve any Mass or girls get to help too.  This issue came up again as we were also asked if Princess and Bagel wanted to learn as well.  So for the sake of sharing my thoughts I will add this in.  I feel that only boys should serve.  In trying to articulate my reasons I found an article that says it all.  "Should the infamous “altar girl” decision be reversed? Screaming for Blue Bell Ice Cream

So we were not all able to go on our Monday morning tour of Blue Bell Creameries.  Pooker worked and so did dad but the rest of us were able to get one more adventure in before Miss B needed to head home to St. Louis.  It was a cool day making the ice cream tour a little odd but it was yummy enough that we pushed through.  We had done our homework, having many flavors for dessert the night before.

 

The kiddos love their Miss Brenda.  We were able to get home in time for Miss B to have time to say goodbye to Pooker.  Even as she was leaving we were planning her next visit.  We love you Miss B, thank you for visiting. 

 

7 Acre Wood Adventure with Miss Brenda

Everyone joined in this adventure.  We had never been and were not sure what to find.  We were happy to find this quaint little place.  It felt like someone kept collecting fun things to do for the grand kids and then decided to open it to the public.  Our entrance fee probably covers the cost of the animals.  It really was a fun spot for a family to play together.  I will let the pictures tell you about our day!

 

 

Ignore J's growl, he really did have a fun time.  Miss B always helps us to enjoy time together as a family.

Rodeo and Girl Time

 We spent the morning/early afternoon with Miss Brenda.  We wanted her to find some boots for the rodeo.  My girls really feel that you must have the perfect boots to really understand the rodeo.  I love shopping with Miss B.

 She had picked which show we would see, so we made plans and I invited two girl friends of mine.  It was a wonderful night as Miss Brenda, Mrs. W, and Mrs. C all really seamed to enjoy each other's company.  We had a blast and Tim McGraw really does put on a great show.  He is the ultimate entertainer.

 

What a great night we had.  It was hard going on a Friday night during Lent but we made the most of it with some yummy fish tacos.  We made up for missing the meat by ending the night (or should I say morning?) at Denny's.  Fun times, thank you ladies especially Miss Brenda!

Miss Brenda has Arrived



We are always so happy to have Miss Brenda visit.  This time she planned her visit so she could go to the rodeo with us.  The last few times we have been around Miss B someone was on a trip.  It was awesome getting to all be together for a fun meal at Chuy's.

It was so cold that night, but also very crowded.  We were seated outside on the patio with the heaters.  Bear stayed warm and toasty using the heat from fire red hair of his sister Princess.

We were all so glad to have our dear friend visiting, Miss Brenda we all love you!

Join in Prayer for our next Pope! - Yes you, the whole world is invited!

The Vatican has called the universal church to pray tomorrow, Wednesday March 6th at 10 AM Central Time, for the Cardinal-Electors who will soon select a new Pope. At the same time in Rome the Cardinals will gather in Prayer at the Altar of the Chair in St. Peter's Basilica.  At that time the Cardinals will gather at the Altar of the Chair in St. Peter's Basilica for recitation of the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary, followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and then Vespers.

We are all called to be part of the Universal Church.  All Christians can join us with prayers.
