Mom's Night Out - Thanksgving Style

One of the things that I am most thankful for my mom friends.  Our homeschool group, Bread Of Life, has a great set of loving caring moms.  This group of ladies does all that it can to take care of their children while also taking care of each other.  Years ago a concern was brought to my attention on our decision to homeschool.  "I met all my friends as my own children were in school.  My friends are the parents of my children's friends.  Who will be your friends?"  I really find this to be a silly line of thinking as I am in many homeschool groups here in Texas.  My favorite group is the local Catholic group.  These ladies are my peers and my friends.  We have built a community as strong as any surrounding a brick and mortar school.

Our group meets once a week.  We chat about life, schooling, our children, our husbands, the weather, our location, and our faith.  We also hear each other's prayer request and pray with and for each other before heading home.  This week we gathered at Miss W's house for a pot luck meal.  We all ate until we were full and shared how thankful we each are for so many blessings that we have in our lives.  Thank You God for this homeschool group and for all my mom friends.

  1. It's very nice to have friends who share your values. We had a Catholic Family in SC; almost all of us were from somewhere else, but we knew that we were there for each other! Glad you have that!

  2. Me too, I am so blessed to have such a large group of Catholic Hommeschooling moms. So much in common helps build solid friendships.
