Teachers in Real School spend so much time on their decorations for their boards. I decided to get in on the act with our homeschool chalk board. I personalized the top with some chalk paint pens. The kids thought it was cool so I guess it was worth it. Now for their "yearly back to school" shots.

I then tried to get everyone in the math mood by giving them tasks with the Math-U-See blocks. They did great with their math warm ups until I left them alone.
I later returned to the dinning room hoping to find that the manipulatives had been put away. Instead I found a castle designed with the 100"s and the 8's with some 5's as trim. I would like to think it was part of some big math equation but I doubt it. Someone told me that the trick to teaching math is to "make it fun". I guess the kids have found a way on their own.
So cheers to you and your school year.
I pray that you are finding a way to make it fun!
