Day Three - The ZOO

Day 3 began with us picking up Pooker from the airport. We were near Dad's grandparents' homes (or used to be when they were alive). We went to a park named after J's Grandfather. He had been the Mayor of a suburb town outside of St. Louis for 30 years. J has always liked this park bearing our last name. So we had to get several shots.

Leaves, leaves and more leaves.  I really can't get enough of the fall colors.

Before the zoo we met up with our  Fr. Tom and Goober's friend from the March for Life, KT.

The kids insisted that we start at Turtle Park.  There is something about those cement turtles that call out to us year after year.
We also met up with Miss Brenda so these pictures are going to contain some fun shots of all of us.

Time for the famous Train ride throughout the zoo.

An old slogan for the zoo is "Who's watching Who? at the St. Louis Zoo."  Look at the glass, I wonder if this lovely creature was watching them as much as we were watching her?

This was a near perfect day.  We went from here to dinner with Nanny and Gramps.  We watched the Cardinals when the World Series, while in St. Louis.  Kind of fun to feel the energy but not thrilled that our home of Texas walked away without the Title.  Thank you, Lord for a wonderful day with family and friends, oh and the cooler weather and beautiful leaves.
