May Cole Rest In Peace

A family that we have known in the homeschool world after our move to Houston are in need of our prayers. Their 12-year-old son Cole woke up with fever and chills over the weekend that continued through the night. After a nose bleed, he was taken to the hospital. Tests revealed that he had a bacterial infection. He is now intubated and showing no sign of brain activity. This young man is the highlight of the family. Please pray for a miracle and pray for the Larson family.

I thank you all for your prayers, I know that God had heard each one. Cole was declared  around 2 this afternoon. As faithful Christians we all know that Easter only comes after Good Friday, Heaven can only come after death. Cole lived a short life but the promise of the real eternal Easter can be his. Join me in our prayer, "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace." As Cole is at peace the pain will be for his family and friends that are here. Please continue to remember this precious family and their community in your prayers. Their loss will be gravely felt.

Today we had the honor of being a part of a community that celebrated the funeral Mass for Cole. He would be turning 13 tomorrow but instead he was buried today. I remember when his 5 older sisters joyfully and gleefully shared the news to the homeschool families that their mom was having a boy. Each one was more excited than the next.

The Texas T family did not stay active in the same groups of homeschoolers as the Larson family but we have always enjoyed every encounter with this family. Cole was/is a bright soul that brought so much joy to all of his family and the entire community. Thank you to his family for sharing him with all of us!
