Crazy School Day

The twins have in fact changed our school days.  They are old enough that they want to be involved and only take short naps but not yet old enough to stay put in their high chairs for more than a few minutes. I was looking at my pictures from this week and the first two were taken on Wednesday morning while babies were sleeping.  Again the kids use the manipulatives and supplies to make towers.  Maybe they will grow up to design towers.

OK so back to today's topic.  18 month old kiddos have always disrupted school days for other homeschoolers.  It is one of the charms of homeschooling with a big family.  When the 18 month old comes with a twin we all rejoice when they nap.  Don't get me wrong we love these kiddos and have a blast laughing with them, playing with them and being distracted by them.  We do have work to do though.

Twin Beautiful
Twin Adorable
The twins were enjoying mom's desk while I was trying to make copies for math class for the older kiddos.  Not sure why Beautiful put a pair of bottoms on her head (I think she gets that from her dad).

Back in the school area with the awake twins can be a disaster.  They see every bucket of supplies as something to explore.  By explore I mean destroy and empty.

This mess is made by Adorable (L) and Beautiful (R)!

Just go to sleep sweet one so that we can get our work done.  Beautiful did not want to stop.  She feel asleep standing up.

Finally now maybe we can get something done.  Adorable is on the top part of picture and Beautiful is on the bottom part of picture.  SHHHH  We are off to do our work.

  1. Sleeping baby pics are the best! I've never had a kiddo fall asleep standing up…and I see those types of pics all the time in blogland! In a way that's a great sign…to have kids that can fall asleep anywhere…I suppose I created my own monsters by always being so structured over nap times/bedtimes…but, it's who I am! :) Would it work to do school work at night…after the twins go to bed??? Maybe tackle chores/household responsibility and errands during the day when they are up? As if you haven't figured this out all on your own after 20+ years! LOL
