Rodeo With Father Tom K

We all put our boots on, Picked up Fr. Tom from the airport and headed to the RODEO.

Everyone was looking just a tad country today. We all had boots and or our official Cowboy hats on.

Our adventure took us into Reliant Center for the Livestock show. We all thought it was fun to share all this farm stuff with our city friend Fr. Tom. To be honest I can't say I loved it, it smelled bad in that room. We learned that there are many many many different breeds of rabbits.

What I found to be the most entertaining was that you could purchase a new mattress while at the same time getting a tractor. They had everything there.

Our next favorite part of the adventure took us outside to check out the farm. This is the mock farm that is set up as a teaching tool.

The kids go through "feeding" animals and "planting seeds" then their crops "grow or produce" then they collect the eggs, vegetables, fruit and wool. They then visit the "market and sell" their goods.
I love that all my kiddos get involved. I think they remember the treat that is purchased at the end with the money earned.
This kiddos even got Fr. Tom in on all the "farming".
Dad wasn't so sure but he played along like a good sport.

Jumba even got to "help" with some tractor time.

They all liked this part the best, eating their treats.

We spent some time on watching Bagel does some insane Mutton Busting, that will be it's own post. After we played at the carnival. J took Fr. Tom, Pickle and Bear into the actual rodeo that night and rest of us killed time playing some more at the carnival.

Finding the car after a day of fun and adventure wasn't easy. When we split up Bear had to use the light up swords that the younger kiddos won to get every one's attention after he found the van.

It was a crazy day but it was a blast. You can't say that you have been to Houston and understand it until you have spent time at the Rodeo.
