Love From Texas

It has been a long time since we left Texas. The big kids knew that and sent some love. I can't even begin to share how exciting it is for these kiddos to get some spicy ketchup and some HEB treats. Dad was most excited about the Texan's salt and pepper shakers.

Thanksgiving Prep

Notice our sad faces, it was hard preparing for Thanksgiving without HEB.
The kids planned a super cool Thanksgiving meal with their friends and each other. Sugar and Possible went to TX to meet Bear. The three of them would drive back with Goobers.  Cookies were sent but didn't arrive until too late. (They also didn't get any pictures of their huge meal.)
Back at home some of us prepare while the younger ones are playing "Pawe Patrol."

Possible's Last Day at HEB

It will be very hard for this young lady to find a job that she enjoys as much as she has enjoyed HEB.  Here she is clocking out for the last time.  She worked very hard for this company over the last two years and did a great job for them. This is just another example of how moving can be very difficult.  We have been very proud of her success at HEB.  Only God knows what the future holds but this is a moment t say thank you for what has been.

Possible 2 Years at HEB

This week has been crazy busy with lots going on but we can't let the week pass without acknowledging that Possible has been at HEB for 2 years now.  She is also working in the formal department.  I am loving it when she helps over there.
Keep up the hard work Possible.

Only In Texas

Nothing new to see here, except that we don't always notice it.  Sugar was back so we had to focus on shellfish.  Walking in and out of our favorite grocery store is life threatening to our Sugar.  This was Possible's HEB so we were warned ahead of time and Sugar stayed in the car.  Just walking past a Crawfish boil will send poor Sugar into anaphylactic shock.  No Crawfish for us!

Another thing that Sugar pointed out were the mounted police at the Mall. Here we are at a stop sign waiting for the horses to cross the street.

Some things will just not be the same outside of Texas.

HEB and The Easter Bunny

As you might recall the twins LOVE HEB.  They were not too sure about visiting the Easter Bunny but loved the idea of visiting Goobers at HEB.
Spoiled girls.  They had Fun.  It is great knowing that Easter is close!

Seeing Santa At HEB

Goobers told us that Santa was coming to her HEB.  The twins prepared themselves this time and actually went up to him and had a short conversation.  They are so cute.  We are extremely proud of them.  They faced their fear and pushed themselves to do something that they were a little afraid of.  I think the big siblings were just as excited for them.
It was the a busy day that took a lot out of these two.
This was the Saturday before Christmas and the twins were already worn out.
May we all find the peace of the season this way.

Goobers and her HEB Accomplishments

Yep, she has hit her three year mark with the company and got a cool new shirt saying that she is the Partner of the Month for October 2017!
Being chosen as your stores Partner of the Month is a big deal.  Way to go Goobers, we are proud of you!

HEB at Six Flags

Every year HEB rents our Six Flags at invites their partners and families from all over Texas to enjoy this day.  WE were all busy except Goobers and Possible.  They are the HEB partners after all.  It looks like they had a blast.  We love that sisters get to enjoy these adventures together!

Everyone Does There Part

There were so many people without electricity.  What could we do to make life a little better.  Goobers HEB had extra ice that was ordered before the storm.  They gave much to those in need.  HEB is so generous.  When they found out about the huge facilities at St. Anthony of Padua's St Theresa of Calcutta's food bank they gave us 2 pallets of bagged ice.  t just had to get there.  We made several trips.  The ice was then stored at STAOP and give out with the food.  The hurricane has created so much need.  I love how people step up.

We didn't do anything big or grand, we just did our part.  If everyone does their part then the world is a better place.  My kids are teaching me that every day!
We love that we can have a big family meal at the end of the day.

As I sat and had this small drink I gave thanks for all that God has blessed us with.  We have each other, we have our health and our home.  We have food and nice air conditioning to be comfortable in.  Dad's job was in tact so money was not our concern.  WE are so blessed to be able to sit and ponder who we could help next and how we could do it.

So much my has been happening. I needed comfort. I decided to make one of my favorite meals from my youth.  My mom was not the most flavorf...
