Bye Bye Books Bye Bye

The involvement with Book Are Fun was a great experience that has reached an end.

It started as a part time way to have a side source of income and involve the kiddos. That was not what happened due to poor choices and unforeseen circumstances. Sadly we ended up with a full time pain.
It was almost therapeutic boxing up our inventory and returning it to the company. The project lasted longer and was more difficult that we expected. It was such a wonderful feeling to sit down at the end of all that work with some pizza and conversation with the kids. So in the goal of helping our family to grow closer together worked in spite of the obstacles.

There have been so many heart aches with this adventure. (Please offer a prayer that we can settle the accounting situation without needing to hire an attorney.) I will only say that I am extremely proud of my husband. J has an incredible drive to forgive and to do things for others even when they don't see it.

One individual is saying nasty things about J implying he isn't trust worthy. He wanted J to quit his real full time job. This is SHOCKING considering we know how little money was actually made. It isn't/wasn't nearly enough to cover anything like a full time position for two individuals plus the part time work of the young ones.

My children could not continue to work for pennies as they need to pay for college. We are most thankful for the four months of their "volunteering" with a little allowance and I mean little, the math was done and it was around $.40 per hour! Even if we had just "hired" one of our kids they would have worked many many hours with still no pay.  Really the income is too minimal, hopefully J's departure will allow others to earn enough to make ends meet. It really is sad. It is amazing how differently people can see the same situation.
We wish all well and will continue to search for the business adventure that will fit us better.   For now it is bye bye.

Camauros Begins

Starting a business is not easy.  It takes lots of work and then if you are lucky enough to make any money the government will take a good portion of it from you.

We let the other business go.  There just wasn't enough money being made to share in so many ways.  Mr. D can continue with it and not share with us.  We then took over another contractors territory.  We bought his supplies and had his inventory transferred to us.  This took every family member and hours and hours of work.

This is a good crew.  The kids are very good at organizing.  The inventory went from looking like the top two pictures to this.  They did a great job.

We were then all set up to host our own events.  I can't say we are making money yet, but we are on our way.  No matter what the past seven months have been a true learning experience for all of us.  The high school kids will add a business class to their transcripts.  I admit that it is a very expensive class so far but well worth it.

Zucchetto Out

We mentioned before that dad and Mr. D came to the conclusion that they would both run a business very differently.  I am very happy that these wise fathers made the difficult decision to separate into two business early on instead of waiting longer and making things too complicated.  Zucchetto is staying with Mr. D so we had to move the join warehouse into his new location.  This was a ton of work but many hands made it go quickly.  By December 1 there will no longer be a joint enterprise.  We ask for prayers for both companies, we believe that both will do well and be a support to each other.

Good luck to the D Family and to Zucchetto Enterprises.  The T family look forward to working on Camauros Enterprises very soon.

Book Fair Business Going Well

The family business is going well.  We have been very business setting up,  running, doing paperwork for, inventory and all other aspects of running this family business.  It isn't a format we created.  We are following the format set up by someone else and it is going extremely well.

Goobers and Pooker at work!

Bear helping out!

That being said we have had to make some major changes already.  J and Mr. D started Zucchetto Enterprises as a joint adventure but we have discovered that each man would like to run their own business very differently.  So we are now working to end the partnership and create a second company.  Mr. D and his family will keep the Zucchetto name and the T family will become the Camauros Enterprises.  It is so much work but it will be worth it.  We are so excited to continue our opportunity with the book fairs.  More on Camauros Enterprises to follow soon!!!

So much my has been happening. I needed comfort. I decided to make one of my favorite meals from my youth.  My mom was not the most flavorf...
