A few days later it was still raining. We decided to drive around the neighborhood and see what was going on. We still had power and all utilities. We wanted to see behind our neighborhood, where the San Jacinto River comes close.
We all were constantly getting messages about who needed help, and what we could do, or someone checking in on us.
Our neighborhood is high and dry but the next door neighborhood was not fairing as well A few homes had some damage to their properties. This was a mile from our home but it would have taken another 12 inches to get up to our part of the hood. Still a little scary! We prayed for our neighbors
