Mother's Day

Last year after crazy busy mother's day I wanted a quiet simple day.

My hubby is who makes life interesting.

I got it this year . . .with a small trip out for ice cream and yummy cookie cake.

Fr. Tom in town for a few days!

We always have a great time when Fr. Tom is in town.  It was a very short visit for Father but as always we made the most of it.  Unfortunately Possible's arm caused a few problems in our day.  She had the pins put in and then at her appointment on Tuesday the Doctor wanted more testing.  He was fearful that she might need more surgery.  As of now we are in a waiting pattern, the poor girl is so upset.
When we were not at Doctor appointments we were playing.  This time Lazar tag was a must because dad would not let us ice skate.  Even Possible was up for it but her Doctors would not let her.  J is still a little leery of it as well.  Fr. Tom loves to ice skate and it would have been a perfect activity.  My poor baby, she is still so upset.  I am sure we will ice skate again in the future as I have been told that after we change our insurance next year we might be able to try again.
I think I heard that the green team won.  No even sure who was on which team but J played to protect Possible.  I hear that everyone else was out for blood and that at some point we will have to step up the game to paint ball.  Oh Fr. Tom's team won!  That was important enough that it was repeated several times.

One of my favorite parts of the visit was hearing the Monday morning Mass said by our dear friend.  I didn't make the effort to go to Masses said by my friend when we were in St. Louis and now I miss them.  I can't begin to share how wonderful it is to have one of your favorite people in the world saying the Mass.  I can only hope and continue to pray that one of my own sons will become a priest.  God please send us more servants for the church and if my son or sons are called, please help him/them to have the courage and strength to be a good priest.  Thank you also for our dear friend.

Confirmation Sunday - More in Pictures

Congrats to Bear and to Sugar!

Divine Mercy Sunday - Full of Graces

Divine Mercy Sunday was so special this year.  Not just for my family but for the entire world.  We now get to refer to John Paul II as Blessed, I recorded my thoughts on how special he is here.  This day in our church was one that he declared years before as a special day.  The Sunday after Easter was picked to be one in which many graces from heaven fell upon earth.  We got to see that first hand this year as so many of our loved ones were wrapped up in special sacraments.

I know that my friend Linda was watching from heaven today.  It was bitter sweet for us knowing how much she would have wanted to be there in person cheering on her little Troy-Man as he made his First Holy Communion.  I am so poud of this young man.  He recieved with a pure joy in his heart.  I know that his mother was smiling from her heavenly home.  Before she died we talked about this day.  I don't think that God would ever keep a mom from such a special day.

We cried a little for Linda today but rejoiced for Troy Man.  He is so big and so strong.  He met our Lord today in the Eucharist in the same blessed manor that hi mother met our Lord in death.

This day was filled with so much.  Our niece in St. Louis, Miss Em, made her first Holy Communion that morning.  I hear that she was beautiful.  I so wish we could have been there with her.

Then came the evening Mass when Bear and Sugar were Confirmed.  This was an exciting day to say the least.  At this Mass our dear B-family friends from the neighborhood also had two boys being Confirmed at the same Mass.

Yep that is our crowd after the Confrimation.  Taby-Kat and Fr. Tom hanging with my oldest four and Cardnial Dinardo.

Nanney and Gramps came to celbrate our big day with us.  It was a wonderful day.  We will post the Confimation pictures seperatly.  Congrats to all those involved in these special things today.

So much my has been happening. I needed comfort. I decided to make one of my favorite meals from my youth.  My mom was not the most flavorf...
