Once again J was headed to New Orleans for the Orpheus Parade on Lundi Gras. This year he took a work client and his wife. They were a delightful couple that we now consider friends. J and Mr. Client showed us the room that holds the floats and their costumes and then sent us on our way. Mrs. Client and I went to Draggos for some of their famous char-broiled oysters. So yummy.
While Mr. Client and Jason began the parade, Mrs. Client and I got a good seat. We sat through another parade only to be thrilled that our men were on the way. The video will show them throwing bead but they never noticed us. After they went by we headed to the hotel to prepare for the ball.
It was a blast to have them finally show up at the ball. Once the men got off the floats we took the traditional "In front of the float" pictures. Our guys were tired. An entire day of throwing beads was enough to wear them out. We took the all important pictures. The wives looked good for the ball, A floor length dress is required. Dressing up is always fun. The post parade pictures always look so goofy, I think. One of us all dressed up and the other one in a costume. Oh well, I guess that is just the Mardi Gras / Carnival Way.
I learned from a young girl this year to go ahead and say it. "Happy Mardi Gras!" In New Orleans they don't realize that the rest of the world doesn't say that.
